Minimalist Chess Set
Sometimes less is more, and that is the case for the minimalist. Made of solid maple, the playing surface is defined by a highly accurate carving. The board sits on simple, round maple feet designed to elevate it above your table to add to the drama. This set was inspired by the work of Yoko Ono, who famously designed an “all white” chess board and pieces. While very beautiful, you can imagine it was difficult if not impossible to play on. While we have maintained the original theme of the minimalist, we have modified it to make it eminently playable.
